  Dr. Byun's Midface Lift

Dr. Byun's Midface Technique was presented at the national meeting of Plastic Surgery.

The technique was featured as a video at the American College of Surgeons at the Orlando meeting May 1998.

The delicate aging process of the midface involves the relationships between the lower eye, the cheek area, and the corner of the mouth. Thus, the process of one area affects the other.

The concept of Dr Byun's face lift is to restore the natural youthful disposition of the cheek by elevating the descended malar cheek pad through very small incisions therefore helping to reshape the central face and achieving a revitalized look.

The patient would like to improve her tired and frown look. After Dr. Byun's Expression Lift, she looks more energetic and feminine. It is all base on muscle lift with less skin resection.

Dr Byun’s signature face muscle lift (muscle repair) that focuses on the central face (midface) starts at $30k.

Patients often choose to add upper eye, brow and the neck area since the recovery time for additional procedures are about the same as the face muscle repair. Dr. Byun calls this a ‘muscle repositioning’. All this can be done at one setting in the independent accredited out patient surgery center (1 East Erie same day surgery center) using light anesthesia technique by a board certified anesthesia MD.

Procedure: Byun Signature Mid-face Muscle lift; upper and lower blepharoplasty, brow lift and release
The common understanding of a facelift is to cut the skin around the face and pull the skin tight. Unfortunately, pulling the skin tight can damage the skin tissue and may result in a wind tunnel unnatural look. From the beginning, Dr. Byun was dissatisfied with this approach and wanted to develop an approach with better results, less damage to the skin tissue, and results that looked natural. Above is an example of a successful facelift combined with a mid-face lift. Subtle changes make the patient look at least 10 years young. Bags under her eyes have disappeared, her brow has not been unnaturally lifted, and her jowl lines are significantly reduced. Best of all, it is her same face. The patient's eyes are the same shape, her lips are not stretched or elongated, and her cheeks have been restored to the natural position.
